Technical Product Designer (m/f)

Machine and Plant Construction


Apprenticeship duration: 3 ½ years
Requirements: General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE)

School emphasis: Mathematics, physics and chemistry
Inclinations and interests: Spatial sense, understanding of technical functions, ability to work in a team


Apprenticeship course:
1st  apprenticeship year: 

  • Principles of technical drawing
    (handling of drawing implements and drawing materials; drawing standards, basic geometrical constructions, views, sections, basic terminology of dimensioning)
  • Basic training in the manual and mechanical machining of materials in our own technically modern training workshop
  • Basic training in 3D CAD
  • Use of national and international standards, tolerance specifications, surface symbols and the properties and testing of materials
  • Training on the design of in-plant products
    (Illustration and dimensioning of individual parts and assemblies in compliance with standards and suitable for manufacturing)

 2nd apprenticeship year:

  • Practically-orientated alternation between manufacturing and design office
    (you will pass through several company departments when alternating between manufacturing and the design office)
  • Reading and use of technical documents
  • Preparation of general drawings
  • Development, design and manufacturing of apprentice projects


3rd/ 4th Apprenticeship year:

  • Operational organisation and communication technology
  • Direct collaboration with the project managers or draughtspersons on projects/jobs for customers
  • Preparation of booth conversions, dryers, ventilation devices, fans and filter systems as well as installation and piping diagrams


Work assignment after completion of apprenticeship:
independent cooperation in project teams in the field of plant design and project planning

Design mechanic (m/f)

Equipment technology

Apprenticeship duration: 3 ½ years
Requirements:
Qualifying/extended Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE)
School emphasis: 
Mathematics, physics and technology
Inclinations and interests: Interest in technology and technical interrelationships, ability to work in a team, manual skills, spatial sense

Apprenticeship course:
1st apprenticeship year:

  • Distinction between and appropriate handling of materials and auxiliary materials
    (coolants, lubricants)
  • Special features of the planning and control of work and movement sequences with subsequent evaluation/checking of the results
  • Basic training in the manual and mechanical machining of materials in our own technically modern training workshop
  • Joining of workpieces
    (by means of screwed and bolted connections, soldering, fusion welding) 
  • Principles of technical drawing

2nd apprenticeship year:

  • Reading and use of technical documents
  • Familiarisation with in-plant structures
    (you will pass through all departments during the apprenticeship)
  • Forming and separation of sheet metals, pipes and profiles by folding, roller bending, bending and straightening
  • Basic training in welding, pneumatics, turning and milling


3rd/4th apprenticeship year: 

  • Important considerations when joining
    (in particular in the case of gas-schielded arc welding / bolting)
  • Construction of pneumatic and hydraulic systems according to schematics and checking of their functional capability
  • Functional assembly and disassembly of mobile building and equipment constructions

Work assignment after completion of apprenticeship: 
Independent cooperation in one of the manufacturing departments, fitter

Electronic technician (m/f)

Industrial engineering (switchgear and control systems)


Apprenticeship duration: 3 ½ years
Requirements: General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE)


School emphasis: Mathematics, technology and physics
Inclinations and interests: Interest in and understanding of electronic, electrical and mechanical interrelationships, manual skills, carefulness and stamina

Apprenticeship course:
1st year: 

  • Basic training in the manual and mechanical machining of materials in our own technically modern training workshop
  • Connection technology, preparation, laying and connection of electrical cables
  • Assembly, wiring and testing of electrical components and assemblies

2nd year:  

  • Construction, testing, measurement, adjustment and calibration of digital and analogue circuits
  • Assembly, installation and testing of power systems
  • Measurement technology

3rd/4th year:

  • Commissioning, service and maintenance of electrical systems
  • Construction and testing of circuits in operation
  • Programming and commissioning of programmable logic controllers (PLCs)

Work assignment after completion of apprenticeship: 
Skilled worker in the manufacturing and maintenance of electrical systems. If qualified and interested, assignment to building sites in Germany and abroad as a fitter.
